Trillium
Trillium is one of the longest serving tenants in St James House. Indeed, the work it carries out pre-dates even its arrival in 1997. For St James House has long been a venue for the local Appeals Service of the Department of Work and Pensions. Back in the 1990s the Trillium was set up by Goldman Sachs to buy and lease back all the buildings and leaseholds that belonged to the Department of Work and Pensions and St James House was part of that portfolio. However, the works of the Appeals Service was unaffected by the new name on the door and it has continued to take place at St James House ever since. The Appeals Service runs independent tribunals, which are responsible for hearing and making decisions on appeals. The tribunal members are drawn from a panel of people who have the qualifications and expertise necessary to deal with all the issues raised in an appeal.
